St. Marys Girls High School Retreat, Mulund-Mumbai
06/11/2009
Jesus Youth Mumbai organized a three day teens programme at St. Marys Girls High School, Mulund from 29th - 31st October. It was one of the two initial teens programme conducted by Jesus Youth Mumbai this season. The logo for the programme was L.U.V. (where L is for the LORD, U is for YOU and V for WE).The resource for this programme was Mr. Santosh Chittilapilly and his wife Sally Chittilapilly. There were about 140 participants. The coordinators were Hazel Crasto and Joe James.
As the logo suggests, the first day was spent in knowing the Lord and His love. Through the various sessions this was emphasized. There was a skit done by our new and young members which clearly showed our Lords infinite love for us. The participants enjoyed as well as understood the underlying meaning in the skit. The participants also learnt and enjoyed the action songs. The day concluded with adoration at 4:30 pm.
The second day was set our side as knowing ourselves and most importantly our sins. The day was mainly spent in confession and counseling. Participants were able to open themselves to the counselors and more importantly make a good confession. There was a skit done to enumerate on what God expects from us. The day concluded with adoration at 2:30 pm.
On the final day there was a session on the Holy Spirit by Shaji Joseph and a session on Constants by Immanuel. There was also a group discussion based on a video shown (how God alone can rescue man from the world) so as to increase interaction with the participants. After this there was a beautiful time of adoration followed by celebration of the Eucharist. The programme concluded with action songs at 2:30pm. Although there were hurdles in the music ministry the Lord helped us overcome them through Hazel, Savina and Bennet. Also we had four new youth from Fire 09 who enthusiastically helped out in all ways possible.
The sisters of the school were kind enough to let us intercede throughout the programme in their chapel before the Blessed Sacrament which was coordinated by Steffi Chettiyar. All the other JY volunteers cooperated in whatever ways possible. The programme was a learning experience for most of us as the Lord continued to show his mighty works and helped us overcome all the obstacles. Praise the Lord!
